What a fabulously gray, rainy Saturday. The hubs and I were both able to get out of bed early (6:30 for me!) and go for our separate runs. I did three miles at a 9:16 pace. I didn't ask what he did.......
One day we'll run together.....
After running, we sat outside this sweet little neighborhood cafe and had an amazing breakfast of porridge and cold brewed coffee with a shot of caramel. Delish! I was also able to pick up my packet from the post office that contained my Monster Dash tech jacket, bib, and timing chip.
It's really happening! Eeeeek!
How many more days til October 27th?
57 days!
I've definitely got some work to do until then. Tomorrow I match my longest run ever, 7 miles, per Hal's schedule. It's supposed to be delightfully cool and rainy, which will certainly help :) I can't help but be excited as the miles keep creeping higher and higher. There is something inside me that rejoices with each mile.
I smile about today and my little delights, such as picking up a gift for our nephew's 3rd birthday, a Facetime sesh with a wonderful friend, deep dish pepperoni pizza from Lou Malnati's, a Harry Potter double feature (4 and 5), and a trip to the best ice cream shop around. Mmmmm. Overall, quite a success (and there's still TWO more weekend days to go!)
Long live the long weekend.
